Whether you’re a full-time or working MUM, it’s important to SQUEEZE time for yourself into your BUSY day.
And because SUMMER is around the corner, why not take that time to energize and exercise at home?
We recommend to add these 7 useful habits into your everyday routine for your health and well-being – in JUST few minutes a day!
- Start your day with water
Your first steps of any MORNING should lead you to the kitchen. Because a glass of water on an empty STOMACH kickstarts your digestive system into action, DETOXING your body and circulating essential water-based elements through your system.
Japanese SCIENTISTS have proved that water helps fight ailments like acne, kidney disease, constipation and obesity – follow this link for more details.
Wait a while before EATING though, or you won’t feel the benefit!
2. Scrub your body
Let your next steps take you to the SHOWER! (However difficult this may be for us, Mums!) Gently rubbing your skin with a scrub HELPS improve circulation and removes dead skin cells, encouraging the regeneration of HEALTHY new cells.
Scrubbing also HELPS get rid of cellulite, and generally makes you FEEL tingly and refreshed. You can MAKE YOUR OWN scrub with used coffee grounds – just add olive oil and a little salt. And don’t forget to apply a light BODY lotion afterwards. What a great start to the DAY!
- Toast-time exercise
While you’re WAITING for the kettle to boil and the toast to pop, do a couple of QUICK exercises in the kitchen. 4. Prepare healthy lunchtime snacks
Whether you’re at HOME or at WORK, don’t skip lunch – you’re more likely to graze just before dinner!
So why not prepare some healthy SNACKS in advance? Chop some fruit, add a few nuts and raisins, peel some carrots and make or buy a savory DIP – yum! - Ditch the car and avoid the lift
Did you know that many mums gain WEIGHT not during or after PREGNANCY but after going back to work? Yep – it’s because of the constant sitting down on those office jobs, that so many of us do.
So if you can add a WALK into your journey to walk then do – and if you can’t, park your CAR at the far end of the car park and take the STAIRS instead of the lift. If you’re at home, move your ‘office’ to the park or playground, and perhaps try a bit of running with the PUSHCHAIR – that’ll amuse your baby for sure!

6. Plan 5 or 10 minutes of exercise at home
As you know, 5 or 10 minutes a day is all it takes to firm up. And you can FIT IN exercise and lose baby weight when you’re doing other things. How about:

- Squeeze a book or yoga brick between your thighs while you’re COOKING or watching TV.

It’s easy to find a few minutes for a workout – honestly!
- Go to bed earlier
We all have millions of unfinished JOBS that make us guilty about going to bed. But look at it this way – the earlier you go to BED, the less time there is to snack! Seriously though, a good bedtime ROUTINE is as important for you as it is for your child.
So drink some SOOTHING herbal tea, get those chores out of your head by making a LIST for tomorrow and settle down with a book (a paper one – the light from reading devices keeps you awake). Night night!
The GOOD NEWS is that these 7 steps to your health and wellbeing take up no more than 25-30 minutes – NONE of which NEED EXTRA TIME from your busy schedule!
