Argh! Halloween is just around the corner and the fab homemade costume that you’ve been thinking about since August is slipping further and further down the ‘to do’ list.
Never fear, because with these quick and easy last minute ideas, your little one can still look super cool/scary/cute – and you might even have time to spare to make something spooky for yourself!
- No-Sew Ninja from Paging Supermom
If there are two words we LOVE to see when we’re talking about costumes, it’s ‘no-sew’. All you need to make your little ninja is a cheap or old top and trousers, something to make a belt and some scissors. You can even make some kid-friendly nunchucks to go with it, which will be useful for scaring off all those ghosts and ghouls!
2.Star Wars from Yellow Pear
If you’ve got more than one child, then Yellow Pear has the answer with these easy but uber cool ideas to make your family into a whole set of Star Wars characters. Our favourite has to be R2-D2 with his exceptionally clever silver bowl and paper helmet, but they all look great! May the force be with you this Halloween!
3. Dinosaur Hoodie from Welcome to the Mouse House
This DIY Dino Hoodie is easier to make than it might look, and it won’t cost you much at all. We think the best thing about it is that it’ll also look pretty cool for everyday with jeans and trainers, so it’ll be extra worth the effort of dusting off that sewing machine!
4. Scuba Diver from Delineate Your Dwelling
If you want to do something out of the ordinary for your kids’ Halloween costumes this year, then this easy and inexpensive scuba diver costume is perfect. Top it all off with a little silver diver’s bucket to collect any treats, and maybe hide some plastic spiders and spooky bits inside!
5. Easy DIY Mummy from Nellie Bellie
No, we’re not suggesting you dress your little one up like you (although you could, if you wanted) – we’re talking about an easy peasy creepy costume that will take no more than a cheap (or old) white sheet and optional scissors and coffee water to achieve. Your little one can definitely get involved with ripping the sheet into strips, making things even easier for you!
We hope our easy halloween costumes have given you some manageable ideas busy mums!
